This position is in the Chase Auto Mortgage Banking Technology - Auto Finance IT QA team.

As a Quality Assurance Developer supporting Auto Finance IT, you will create test strategies, plans and automated/manual test cases from functional requirements and/or agile user stories. You will participate in defect calls and produce QA statistics and reporting in ALM. You will work closely with SME's from the business, IT project managers, applications developers and user acceptance testers, as well as our QA Leads to deliver high-quality application software solutions to the Auto Finance business. Additionally, you will provide SDLC QA testing support through the warranty period.

The successful candidate will possess a strong coding background and knowledge of both agile and waterfall methodologies. The successful candidate will also possess skills necessary to ensure successful coding and maintenance of automated tests with a focus on early automation and creation of end-to-end tests to be incorporated into project/release-level regression.

The subject areas in which our team operates (and on which you would be expected to acquire proficiency on), are:


  • Analyzing application/testing requirements, implement automation solutions for automated testing of applications/products


  • Understanding of interfacing applications and test environments


  • Designing, developing, maintaining and executing automated/manual test scripts


  • Developing test plan/test strategy


  • Determining test coverage


  • Driving defect remediation


  • Identifying and creating risk mitigation activities early in the project lifecycle

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.


  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Test Engineer, Test Automation Developer, Applications Developer or SQA Analyst


  • Mainframe and Web Based application testing


  • Software Test Tools including HP Quality Center, QTP/UFT, Selenium, LISA


  • Developing test strategies, test plans based on user stories, functional specifications, use cases, and/or business requirements


  • Experience in advanced testing concepts such as traceability matrices, boundary value analysis, state transition testing, test coverage analysis


  • Experience in regression test planning through the use of risk based testing approach for automation and manual testing

Preferred Skills:


  • Technical skills in QTP/UFT, Cobol, JCL, CICS, SQL, Java, Oracle Database, Unix, Microsoft Office


  • Strong understanding of test automation


  • ISTQB or SQAI Advanced Level Technical Test Certification


  • Experience with Agile SDLC methodology is highly desired


  • Expertise in automation testing tools/frameworks (e.g. Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium Grid, Junit, SOAP-UI, Eclipse, Jenkins, CA-Lisa, Ant, Maven, Visual Studio, HP ALM/QTP, JIRA, etc)


  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to fine details


  • Experience with development of software quality metrics for driving test improvement


  • Experience in working with distributed teams a strong plus
