Frontend Developer
Located in Vox Studios, Vauxhall
Competitive Salary depending on experience plus great benefits
Viribus have partnered with Bloom & Wild as they are looking to hire a Frontend Developer to help grow their team and take their website to the next level.
There’s stacks of room to make your mark by applying your initiative, expertise and experience to help realise our roadmap. You’ll be joining a close-knit team and get the chance to help shape how they work, and inspire others, while using the latest tools and technologies. This means exploring things like personalisation, voice-activation, AI and any other tools that help us create the best possible customer experience.
They are looking for someone with a passion for writing clean, reusable Javascript and experience of bringing user-centred product design into production. Taking ideas from sketches to live code, you will take responsibility for quality at every step along the way, whether it’s testability, UX or architecture.
They are currently transitioning their single page AngularJS application into modern, testable ES6 components within Angular. Combined with other technologies such as Node/Express, Docker, Eslint, Karma and Sass, it enables them to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience for their customers.
You:
- An eagerness to learn, be fast-moving and pragmatic, favouring working and usable MVPs, and using real customer feedback to continuously iterate and improve their tech
- Knowledge of current and emerging front end technologies, in particular single page applications, gained as a front-end (or full stack) developer, ideally on a customer facing product
- Commercial experience using Angular (version 2 and above)
- A passion for building great user experiences, favouring simple and easy-to-use UIs, and a mobile-centric approach that stretches beyond responsive design to concerns such as performance and scale-ability
- Experience working with developers of all skill levels, using code reviews, pair programming and other techniques to improve the team as a whole
- Worked with RESTful APIs and ideally you will have contributed to the design of new APIs (ours are written in Ruby on Rails, using JSONAPI)
- Experience using version control tools such as GitHub, and testing tools and frameworks such as Mocha, Sinon.JS, PhantomJS/CasperJS, Selenium and Cucumber (webdriver.io)
It would be great if you have:
- Experience of internationalisation, personalisation and website performance optimisation
- Experience using Docker
Working Environment:
They're hard-working with a relaxed culture, supportive of flexible working, with a strong and collaborative vibe. Everyone is very sociable, with regular company-wide lunches, drinks and Bloom & Go Wild trips. They use the best bits of agile with a real focus on learning, through retros, stand-ups, code reviews and plenty of chances to pair up and solve problems.
You’ll get first-hand experience of fundraising, rapid product development, incredible growth curves and everything else that comes with being part of a young, exciting business.
When you start you’ll be able choose whatever laptop you need to get the job done, a widescreen monitor to plug into, comfy chair and whatever other tools you need.
Plus 25 days holiday, a competitive salary (with regular reviews and feedback), and other perks.
