Team and work environment
We are an international team in Berlin and Stuttgart, working in a self-organized and agile way.
You will be based at our brand new and unique office in the heart of Berlin. The building offers spacious offices and meeting rooms and excellent connectivity to public transport.
Technical challenges
The mission of the team is creating a cloud based middleware that connects our core paying platform ‘Mercedes Pay’ with various service applications used by our customers and clients. We want to grow our microservice architecture and continuously expand services, features and paying methods. Our ePayment system is deployed worldwide, used by millions of customers and connects several platforms from various functional domains.
Your role
You will play a key role in ensuring fast and reliable delivery of our systems and their integration layers. The main focus is ensuring smooth operations of containerized transaction systems in a high-availability cloud environment. We are a new team, little is set in stone and it’s your chance to leave a footprint.
- You develop and maintain a secure, easily testable and rapidly deployable system along the entire integration and testing pipeline.
- You maintain a close relationship with our developer team, linking Dev and Ops together.
- You are responsible for performance monitoring, reporting, and develop the technical documentation.
- You will also design and manage integrated build pipelines using continuous integration workflows such as Kubernetes, Jira, Git, Stash, Bamboo, Jenkins, Docker
As skills and requirements you have:
- Successfully completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.
- Extensive experience with containerization, especially Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working, tuning and monitoring PostgreSQL
- Strong experience with cloud deployments and –scenarios and the ability to discuss trends, advantages or disadvantages of scaling, and persistent state approaches.
- You have several years of experience in software development.
- You have experience working in an agile environment.
- You are experienced in Bash, Python, or any other scripting language
