Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java)
This opportunity is located in Washington, DC.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Working with product managers and other stakeholders to get clarification on business requirements and then implementing solutions including code development and database design
- Ensuring high quality solutions by implementing unit tests and supporting the creation and design of integration, load and user acceptance tests
- Aid in the development of solutions that support consistent information architecture, taxonomies, visual standards, interaction patterns, and use cases across multiple applications
- Working in concert with senior and junior developers to build complex rule-based evaluation and processing solutions
- Review designs, document front-end technical specifications, provide time estimates for the implementation of features/fixes, perform deployments and support server upgrades
- Support operations by identifying, researching and resolving performance and production issues; including occasional on-call situations
Must Haves:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent exp.
- 5+ years of professional experience with Java, J2EE
- 5+ years of professional Java, J2EE, Javascript development experience
- 5+ years of experience working with MySQL, Postgres or Oracle, with strong SQL
- 2+ year of web application development with recent experience using modern AJAX based rich client using Javascript and various frameworks (Vue.js, node.js, React.js, or Angular)
- 1+ years of experience with Hive in a Hadoop environment
- 1+ years of professional experience with Python
- 2+ years of experience using healthy design and coding patterns to produce simple code for complex problems
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed team and also as individual contributor
- Good understanding of Tech Stack and ability to do deployments and support server upgrades
- Specific domain expertise with DSL development and parsing systems

Even Better:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 1+ years of experience with ANTLR parser generators, or similar
- Experience with Django’s ORM and environment
- Experience with continuous integration environment including the use of tools such as Maven, GIT, JUnit, Jenkins, Bamboo
- Experience handling large volumes of data
- Ability to communicate with business and technical teams both orally and written
- Experience working within a team environment and the ability to work with internal and external clients and to translate requirements into solutions
- Knowledge of multiple languages/alternative frameworks and ability to learn new technologies as the need arises
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of frameworks and programming languages
