iOS Engineer at Weebly (San Francisco, CA)

The Team

iOS Engineering is a unique team of experienced engineers working on one of the most advanced and featured apps on the App Store (4.7/5). The codebase is modern, protocol-oriented, and almost exclusively Swift 4. As a compact team, individual iOS engineers are able to have a significant impact on the product, design, the team, and our customers.

The App

Weebly for iOS is the first app in its class to offer full-featured website editing on phones and tablets. While this website-launching mobile app alone is no small feat, the app also powers customer’s commerce stores and is a vital part of running an online business with Weebly. Weebly for iOS is an award-winning 4.7 star App Store Rating that has been featured by Apple a number of times, including being a demo app installed on Apple Store devices in over a dozen countries.

The Job

iOS engineers at Weebly require little direct guidance, but love to collaborate and share ideas. This position requires an appreciable level of experience (4-5 years of direct native app experience), a passion for the iOS platform, and a desire to overcome technical challenges. iOS engineers at Weebly also have an opportunity to contribute to our ever-expanding and well-utilized open source presence.

You should have work-based experience (bonus if B2C) with:

  • Swift (3.0+) and Objective-C (As an early Swift adopter, most of our codebase is Swift)

  • Basic Web Technologies (HTML, CSS and Javascript)

  • Unit testing / XCTest / TDD

  • Auto Layout and animations in UIKit

  • Communicating with a backend API

  • Core Data

  • Grand Central Dispatch & threading

  • Caching techniques

  • Instrumenting for performance & security issues

  • Git workflows

  • Localization

Ideally, you'll:

  • Have at least one app published to the App Store with mid to high download metrics and ratings

  • Be comfortable reading PHP

  • E-commerce or B2B2C experience

  • Have code contributed to open source projects
