With a group of software developers and physicists you will be responsible for
design, implementation, and test of our system software for data acquisition,
image analysis, and instrument control.
Good knowledge and experience in Python programming including user interface
design with the Qt library, concurrent programming and a sound understanding of
the NumPy library for numerical computation are necessary. You should be used to
cross-platform development in a mixed Linux and Windows environment. Skills in
C++ programming for low-level device interfaces and high-performance numerics
would be a great plus.
A good mathematical education and strong interest in science subjects are definitely
necessary for this position. Some practical experience with electron microscopy or
other optics or data acquisition equipment would a great advantage but is not
mandatory. Applications from scientists with a programming background are explicitly
welcome. A good command of the German and the English language is necessary.
