Your Role


Fanxchange has a full-time opportunity available for a DevOps Engineer in our Toronto office. The successful candidate will join Fanxchange’s DevOps team. The ideal candidate is someone who is well versed in modern DevOps methodologies, comfortable proposing new ideas and solutions, and passionate about learning new technologies and tools.


As part of a small team, you will play a key role in the following: 


Production & UAT Environment Administration & Support:



  • Creating Scalable, Secure Infrastructure in our AWS environment

  • Production System Uptime Management & Issue Monitoring (Datadog)

  • Log Management (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana)

  • Application Deployments Support & Automation (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)


Developer Support:



  • Assist Development team in creating Build Systems & Build Automation for Python Applications (Jenkins, UWSGI)

  • Configuration management (Ansible)

  • Creating and maintaining Pre-Production Environments (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins)

  • Integrating infrastructure tools with Source-Code Version Control Systems (Github)


Infrastructure Support:



  • System provisioning and configuration management (Ansible, Fabric)

  • Support process improvements using automation, tools, scripts

  • Application troubleshooting, performance tuning, scaling

  • After-hours system operations support as part of on-call team


Skills & Qualifications



  • Experience working / developing in a full-stack Python, Java, Ruby or Golang shop

  • Application Server provisioning and administration experience (ex NginX, HAproxy, Uwsgi)

  • Excellent knowledge of the Linux Operating System (RedHat-based distributions)

  • Database administration experience

  • Experience writing and maintaining system monitoring checks (Datadog)

  • Coding experience, particularly infrastructure automation scripting

  • Knowledge of Application Development & SDLC Best Practices

  • Familiarity with Agile software development processes

  • Containerization experience

  • Cloud networking experience

  • Source-Code Version Control knowledge

  • Bash & python experience

  • Ansible / Puppet / Chef experience

  • Degree in Computer Science / Engineering
