The Apple Media Product Team is looking for a top-notch Technical Writer to be a key player to join Commerce and Payments Engineering as we build the next generation e-commerce platform.

The App Store, Apple Music, iTunes and iBooks Stores continues to grow and were looking for very special team members to bring the growing payment offerings to our worldwide customers. Join our exciting engineering team that has been leading the digital distribution industry by constantly developing innovative features since its launch.

Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years professional software development experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in technical writing (customer-facing material), product documentation, or online publishing
Proficient with Markdown and Markup
Previous experience creating technical documentation including:
API documentation
System overviews
Reference guides for new products and features
Documentation tailored for target audience (e.g. developers, data scientists, and analysts)
Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others on the team, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills
Organize documentation and make it easily discoverable, compelling, and engaging
Build templates and training curricula to assist the team in documentation effort
Background in web analytics and/or data services is preferred but not require

Description:
Building out a new Commerce and Payments platform takes many top-notch dedicated team members to win at execution and delivery. And in Apple Media Products, we have a need to provide professional documentation for our clients (effectively our customers) will use to integrate with for the next generation users.

This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation primarily focused for other engineers within our team but also with other engineers from different organizations.
Well need an outgoing person who understands the software engineering life cycle and can document code so an engineer can take it and run with it. Youll be interviewing engineers and incorporate feedback from our partners for completeness.
You will be responsible for recommending input for a style guide and ensuring that the standard is enforced resulting in professional external facing documentation.
You will need to juggle between writing documentation for new features, updating existing documents and FAQs, reviewing documents and providing feedback to members of the team. You will also play the lead role in managing our documentation strategy and system, as well as rolling out a training and review plan to help our own team's engineers produce better documentation.

Education:
B.S. in computer science or related field

Additional Requirements:
Knowledgable in Big Data technologies specifically Hadoop, C* and Spark
Experience with: authoring tools, GitHub , creating videos for documenting products , previous experience writing documentation for database products, including SQL solutions (such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server) or NoSQL solutions (such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis)
