 About the Job:


 We are seeking creative “intrapreneurs” to join the newly formed Innovation Portfolio team at Blackbaud. You will work in collaboration with the Innovation Portfolio manager, lead engineer, and our startup team of senior engineers, product managers, and UX designers to craft the solutions that will drive growth 3, 5 and 10 years down the road. We are focused not just on the next line-of-business, but how we can “expand the pie” by driving growth of the social economy globally.
 


As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the team, you will be expected to lead on turning prototypes and designs into truly delightful customer experiences. In this role, you are expected bring an expertise in CSS, JS/Angular, HTML5, Bootstrap, and responsive design – ideally coupled with a strong eye for design, familiarity with UX best-practices, and experience working with 3rd party APIs.
 


The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated team player with both breadth and depth of relevant technologies. This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. At the core of the position is to be able to Think Big and innovate through simple solutions that can scale and deliver on customer value.



Responsibilities:



  • Build cutting-edge, state-of-art applications collaborating with the User Experience (UX) team and other software engineers

  • Write code that is optimal, documented, clean, tested and gives performance and scalability priority

  • Ensure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent across applications

  • Consume backend data services and contribute to enhancing existing data service APIs



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of experience designing and developing large scale Web applications with high availability and reliability, ideally in a SaaS environment.

  • 5+ years total experience

  • Proficient with JavaScript (ES6), HTML5, and CSS3

  • Proficient with AngularJS; Experience with both versions 1.x and 2 is preferred

  • Experience with unit test development preferred

  • Experience building responsive designs

  • Proficient with Git

  • Proficient with RESTful API standards and best practices

  • Experience with Agile (preferably Scrum) & Test-driven development

  • Experience in applying open-source technologies

  • Experience with deploying and operating applications to public cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure)

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies like Scrum  

  • Experience with rapid prototyping and evaluation of customer applications  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
