We have been a leading provider of back office and bookkeeping software for convenience stores and gas stations since 1981. Our existing applications are used online by thousands of users simultaneously and helps them more efficiently manage the daily operations of their businesses in a market that is constantly changing.
We are currently looking to add a remote Javascript web developer to one of our teams to help enhance a recently created ReactNative and Redux based mobile application for tracking items in our customer's stores. This application will primarily run on an Android based device specifically designed for scanning barcodes. This application will communicate with microservice based back ends that rely on SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage.
You will work on a small team which is responsible for developing the entire product's software stack. You will need to collaborate with other team members to solve problems and design systems that meet the specified requirements. The application is being developed incrementally using an agile process allowing us to provide new features to our existing customers as we develop them.
The Software Application Developer’s responsibilities will range from designing, developing, writing automated tests, debugging and maintaining applications with other members of the team.
Work with a team that includes front end developers, back end developers, QA and documentation
Work remotely using VOIP, Slack, and video conferencing in order to communicate with other local and remote team members
Help design and implement a high quality software architecture
Help design new REST/JSON based APIs for services
Write automated tests for your code
Work with QA to find and fix problems and performance issues
Skills & requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or professional experience
Experience writing Javascript and using web technologies such as Webpack, Flow, es6, etc...
- Experience using and writing Android applications
- Knowledge of React or ReactNative
Experience using RESTful microservices
Passionate about software development and learning
Self motivated
Good communication skills
