IT Manager for USC's Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) at University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies (Los Angeles, CA)

The University of Southern California's Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) is an off campus research facility, located on a create business campus in the "Silicon Beach" neighborhood of Playa Vista.  We are world leaders in innovative training and education solutions, computer graphics, computer simulations, and immersive experiences for decision making, cultural awareness, leadership and health.

We are currently seeking an IT Manager to join our information technology team.  The IT Manager will be responsible for the information technology infrastructure of a cutting edge research institute.  This role is accountable for the day to day management of all central information technology systems including all networking, server, backup, enterprise storage and desktop systems.  This position directly manages all information technology department staff, develops and administers a budget, while maintaining high-level technical expertise.  The ideal candidate must be a hands-on information technology manager who enjoys the technical work associated with a complex technical research environment.

Qualifications:

• 
  
• Must have a strong Network architecture and management background that includes network switches, firewall, wireless access points and network load balancers
• 
  
• Minimum of 3 years of advanced level Linux system administration
• 
  
• Ability to develop and manage department budgets for both short-term projects and long term departmental and institutional goals
• 
  
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a departmental or team management role
• 
  
• Ability to design, build and manage all aspects of an information technology infrastructure
• 
  
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  
• Enterprise storage management experience (NetApp, EMC, Tegile)
• 
  
• Compliance and Governance understanding (PCI, PII, HIPAA, DFARS)
• 
  
• Familiarity with Security Assessment Tools and Security Frameworks (NIST, ISO)
• 
  
• VMware administration experience
• 
  
• Backup system architectures and management - Commvault experience preferable
• 
  
• Wireless networking understanding
•
