Senior IT Systems Engineer at Ridgeline International, Inc. (McLean, VA)

We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our Corporate IT team. Every day is a new challenge, and you must enjoy working independently with minimal supervision with a drive to promote a positive customer service experience while working on-site with customers, supporting internal projects, and working with leadership developing internal initiatives. You will be working with moderate to extremely complex information systems and technology tasks affecting multiple technology and application disciplines in the use of networks, servers, and other technologies.

Additionally, you will work with end-users, other technical staff, senior management with a customer-service, can-do attitude, and be known as the one who can figure out how to create practical solutions and execute them promptly.

Ultimately, you will ensure that our software, hardware, servers, and networks run with maximum availability and high performance.

Also, you will:

• Provide application support, software quality assurance and testing, software engineering, network engineering, telecommunications, and infrastructure operations of administration, analysis, engineering, and design. 


• Work with vendors and suppliers to negotiate, procure, and implement high-performing solutions such that both parties win.


• Design, configure, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and support the information technology and systems infrastructures and the applications that support these functions. 


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. 


• Implement various complex applications and the infrastructure on which they run.. 


• Evaluate, plan, design, procure, implement, and train users on a variety of information technology tools and applications. 


• Respond to user requests for system needs and support. 


• Manage and maintain the Information Technology infrastructure and operations, including high availability, backups, interfaces, and upgrades.


• Manage projects from inception to implementation including developing and documenting stakeholder requirements and use cases (discovery) through design, development of solutions, and deployment of customer solutions

What you need to qualify:

• An active security clearance is preferred but not required. 


• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.


• Experience with TCP/IP networking (Switching & Routing, CCNA preferred)


• Experience with network security devices


• Practical experience with enterprise infrastructure monitoring tools


• Working knowledge of security technologies such as IDS/IPS, log monitoring, firewalls, web proxies, DLP, CASB, SIEM, DNS security, DDoS protection, and active directory


• Knowledge of server hardware and operating systems including both LINUX and Windows, and working with iSCSI, vSAN, and VMware


• Experience with and working knowledge of information security best practices
