Asurion's Account Management team is looking for engineers that can work across the entire software stack in an ETL environment. Our ideal candidate has familiarity with ETL Workflows, strong SQL and database skills. Familiarity with web services, API, third party integrations and operating in a cloud-based environment (AWS or GCP) is preferred.

The Accounts platform team builds and maintains systems that support customer enrollment, processing and vendor communication. We focus on providing a seamless stakeholder experience by reliably executing product initiatives and providing highly responsive customer service.

What You’ll Do



  • Triage, deep-dive, and troubleshoot complex issues that arise in ETL Workflows – then implement solutions so that it doesn’t happen again 

  • Assist with building ETL flows that improve predictability of processing incoming data

  • Identify fault-tolerance improvements, and then establish solutions to improve the enrollment platform experience for stakeholders 

  • Provide operational support to product and development teams 

  • Implement systems that can heal themselves when something goes wrong, with minimal to no human intervention

  • Develop, manage and follow operational policies and procedures including documentation and training 

  • Show ownership and take pride in what you work on while being willing to share your experience and solutions with across teams

  • Be accountable towards our systems and the customers that use them

  • Participate in on-call rotation while building systems to minimize critical outages.


What You Bring to the Team



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields or can be substituted with high school diploma with 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Linux or Unix-based systems is required

  • 1+ years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres or SQL Server), SQL data manipulation and reporting, is preferred

  • 1+ years of experience writing SQL queries to inspect data is preferred

  • 6+ months of experience with Python, PowerShell, shell scripting or similar experience is preferred

  • 6+ months of experience monitoring servers, file systems (on-premise or cloud-based) is preferred 

  • Familiarity with file transfer tools and protocols (FTP, SFTP, SSH etc.) is preferred 

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Cloud Formation) is nice to have 

  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is nice to have

  • Familiarity with monitoring frameworks – Elastic Stack (ELK), Prometheus, Splunk or similar frameworks, is nice to have

  • Understanding of networking protocols (TCP, sockets etc.) is nice to have

  • Experience working in a modern, agile software development lifecycle using tools like Jira or Trello is nice to have

  • Familiarity with source control systems is nice to have 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive communication
