Required Skills/Experience:
- Dynamic Software Engineering skills and mindset (our environment includes both .NET and Java stack and front end and backend development); you dont have to have all of those skills but we need you to be comfortable / interested
- Mix of backend and front-end skills (or open to picking up both)
- Understanding of back-end development using Java and/or C#, and Web Services (SOAP & RESTful)
- Understanding of front-end development: UI/UX, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL development (SQL Server, IBM DB2)
- Solid understanding of lifecycle management tools: Source Control (TFS/Git/SVN), Build Servers (TeamCity/Jenkins), and Testing Tools: (NUnit, JUnit, Selenium)
- Good understanding of application and web server technologies (IIS, Apache, Tomcat)
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Able to work during regular business hours and occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet and support business partner and community/business networking or events
- Able to travel occasionally to other branches in Southern and Northern California
Desired Skills/Experience:
- CI/CD, experience building out a CI/CD pipeline would be a huge plus
- DevOps tools and processes
- Good understanding of network and hardware infrastructure as it relates to application development, configuration and support
- BSCS or similar
- Microsoft or Oracle (Java) certifications are a plus
- Financial Industry

Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and tests innovative full-stack software and integration solutions using practices such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, TDD, and SOLID principles
- Provide technical expertise as it relates to systems integration of third-party or custom built solutions
- Takes ownership of complex technical problems and drives them to a successful outcome either individually or with team members
- Provides technical leadership to enterprise project teams and business partners
- Provides 3rd tier support for application and technical issues
- Communicates effectively to varied technical and non-technical audiences
- Analyzes and interprets business requirements
- Analyzes and creates technical requirements that meet the needs of the business
- Possesses a passion for continuous learning and seeks out new opportunities to increase credit union member and end user value
- Contributes to and supports the software development lifecycle, coding practices and standards for the organization
- Actively leads improvement to system design, development processes and the development team's contribution to the organization.
- Evaluates the technical feasibility of potential projects
- Writes and maintains technical documentation according to credit union guidelines
- Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Summary:
As part of a small development team in the financial services industry, the Software Engineer will have broad exposure to many aspects of software development including leveraging our core processing solution. This role will require the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and technologies, in addition to delivering timely, quality solutions. The Software Engineer will be innovative, and must possess a strong customer-focused vision and outside the box thinking, along with a pragmatic and organized approach to delivering the right solutions at the right time.
