About the role
We are currently searching for a passionate Java developer to strengthen our highly skilled and international team in Amsterdam. As a back-end Java developer, you will be part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the core that our trading products are running on. On a daily basis, we have hundreds of thousands of clients logged in on our platform which requires a solid performing system and little room for error. Because we are rapidly growing and the number of clients is steadily increasing, we are looking for another member to our team that wants to join us in our efforts of making sure our systems keep performing as is expected by our clients.
Being a senior member of our team, you will not only apply yourself but also share your knowledge and experience to ensure we keep successfully growing. While we always operate as a team, you will also be expected to work independently or in pairs, take ownership of what you develop and think beyond the specifications that have been given to you. Daily challenges will require you to make intra- or cross team technical decisions and interact with our Front-End, Product Management, Marketing and other internal teams as you develop new functionality. Being a good team player is therefore a necessity.
Responsibilities
- Select new tools and technologies together with the development team;
- Provide hands on technical expertise;
- Propose creative solutions for web platforms used by hundreds of thousands of customers;
- Develop complex fully responsive trading tools;
- Improve existing and drive new features from design board to production;
- Collaborate with product owners, Front-End and other stakeholders;
- Constantly improve quality of codebase, flexibility of the development ecosystem and capacity of the team.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent;
- 8+ years of experience with Java;
- Experience with SQL database, Maven and Git;
- Knowledge of Spring and Hibernate frameworks is a plus;
- Experience in distributed applications and API building is a big plus;
- Proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus;
- Interest in financial markets is a plus;
- Be a teamplayer.
