Report Developer at Dahl Consulting (Minneapolis, MN)

DAHL Consulting has a great Report Developer position with our Fortune 500 insurance client in St Paul, MN.  

Our client is seeking an experienced Report Developer with experience developing BI solutions using QlikView or Cognos. You will be responsible for work on application development projects along with operating, supporting and administering applications on our shared Ab Initio infrastructure environment, maintaining technology currency, performing routine check-out/regression testing for patch upgrades, trouble-shoot environment-related issues/monitor application environment stability, and maintaining/creating development frameworks and reusable components as well as continuous deployment capabilities. 

Responsibilities:

• Interface with infrastructure support for technical issues/upgrades for the Ab Initio suite of technologies
• Maintain technology currency for the suite of Ab Initio infrastructure; perform essential regression testing tasks.  
• Conduct Proof of concept and initial software trial before major upgrades.  
• Maintain and enhance Ab Initio job/application frameworks.  
• Play developer role for ETL application projects as they arise; develop reusable/generic graphs that can be leveraged by different line of businesses.  
• Trouble-shoot environmental issues as they arise; ensure timely resolution of tickets/incidents.  
  
• Security and access maintenance for the Ab Initio environment; Perform audit/SOX compliance task.  
• Establish/advocate standard procedures in Ab Initio code deployment and continuous integration and deployment capabilities.  
• Develop BI solutions using QlikView and Cognos.  
• Develop framework models using Cognos Framework Manager.

Qualifications:  

• 3+ years experience with Ab Initio strongly preferred; familiarity with other ETL tools (DataStage, Informatica or SSIS etc.) is a plus.  
• 1+ year experience with QlikView and Cognos.  
• Experiences in troubling shooting ETL environmental issues and supporting Ab Initio environment.  
• 1+ year experience working in Unix/shell scripting environment.  
• Experiences working with SQL server, Oracle or any other DBMS database.  
• Experiences working with job scheduling tools (such as AutoSys etc.).  
• Data warehouse/business intelligence knowledge is a plus.  
• Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Management Information is preferred.
