Position Description:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong technical background, with an emphasis on developing and/or supporting Enterprise J2EE Applications and Server technologies in a fast paced, agile environment. In addition to the candidates ability to demonstrate core competencies at a technical level, the candidate will possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate also has high energy and is very driven to get work done.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Java Engineer is responsible for optimizing the performance of Java/web service-based applications, writing infrastructure code to automate the build and deployment of those applications, writing Java-based test frameworks for stress and load testing the applications, and improving the J2EE security of the applications.
The Engineer works closely with multiple teams including IT development, quality assurance, business analysis, systems support, information security, database analysis, business partners, and outside vendors. Agile development experience is necessary.
Broad technical knowledge is required, including Java/J2EE applications and application servers, Oracle databases, Unix/Linux systems and scripting, infrastructure automation and Java/J2EE application security. Health care background is a plus. Experience working with vendor partners is desirable.
