Cloud Engineer (Hybrid) at CAMP Systems International, Inc. (San Diego, CA)

This intermediate-Senior role requires combining an advanced knowledge of Windows server engineering, traditional and cloud deployed systems, and architectural design and expertise to deliver a world class hosted application experience. The engineer will support highly complex systems including deployment, integration, security and high level Windows server administration. This individual provides input regarding future direction and growth of the hosting server infrastructure, performing design and implementation of enterprise wide solutions, which includes Windows Remote Desktop services, IIS, VMWare, AWS, Azure, and several Database platforms.

Job Duties

• End to End support for hosted applications in 24X7 production cloud environment

• Deployment of application upgrades, hot fixes, and changes to platform capacity

• Responsible for maximizing system up-time and availability, ensuring functional and performance SLAs

• Responsible for establishing end-to-end monitoring and alerting on applications to ensure SLAs and get proactive notifications of possible issues for all systems

• Creation of playbooks/automation to run when responding to alerts or incidents

• Initiate and lead scripting and automation to streamline system updates and upgrades

• Work with operations team to resolve trouble tickets, developing and running scripts, and troubleshooting in a hosted environment

• Planning and deploying a globally accessible, high uptime & fault tolerant, secure server infrastructure

• Works closely with development team on product deployment models, testing and escalations.

• Works well independently and requires little or no supervision

• Automation and streamlining of repetitive tasks

Job Requirements

• BS level education (or commensurate experience) and 5+ years hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise solutions (Colocated or AWS/Azure)

• Minimum of 2 years experience deploying and supporting MS Remote Desktop Services or Citrix

• Working knowledge of Windows OS and Oracle administration

• Basic knowledge of VMware and/or Nutanix Acropolis; VM management and provisioning & Virtual networking configuration

• History of understanding, supporting, and troubleshooting application level systems, communications and performance issues in cloud in a multi-tiered architecture

• Experience with AD Group Policy Management and Microsoft security concepts

• Experience with Application Monitoring (APM), metrics and reporting

• Preferred candidates will have experience in Scripting (PowerShell, python) and/or CI/CD

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytics skills

• Team player who works well in collaborative fast paced environment

• Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills

• Experience in Azure/AWS a plus

• Experience with AWS AppStream, Parallels 2X, or Ericom AccessNow/HTML5 RDP Clients a plus
