The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and deployment of the BAKKT applications into the public cloud. This role will collaborate with other highly skilled technical staff, who are responsible for the engineering of the cloud compute, disaster recovery, network, OS, and application layers of the digital asset platform. This is a hands-on technical role that will require daily interaction with compute platforms and their related systems. This position will be responsible for the delivery of the infrastructure solution that supports the BAKKT applications.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform regularly scheduled system maintenance such as installing and evaluating patches & performing system upgrades
- Perform preventative maintenance and support for servers and network equipment
- Maintain network and computer security for user profiles, user access, data access, network and hardware access
- Collaboratively document standards for compute, security, and data integrity
- Configuration, support & maintenance of network, firewall, and security
- Internet circuits (local & remote locations) performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, replication, snapshots/backups, testing

- ears of experience with any of the following technologies
- Linux and windows engineering
- Scripting and programing languages (bash, powershell, python, etc.)
- Continuous integration delivery tools (git, jira, etc.)
- Infrastructure as code
- Cloud native tools such as packer, terraform, or ansible
- Proactive, upbeat and collaborative communication style, with the ability to be direct, tactful, and transparent
- Ability to self-manage time and priorities based on work requirement guidelines
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and strong focus on delivery of objectives within timeline
