Job Purpose
The Performance Engineering team is looking for a Senior Java Developer experienced in application development to help build internal tools used for testing, monitoring, and reporting on the Derivatives Trading System.Working with this small, experienced team is rewarding, but requires a hands-on approach, can-do attitude, and a willingness to go the extra mile.There is both the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned developers and the opportunity to work individually on a project.Each team member owns at least one project.Everyone contributes.Some of the challenges we face include automating complex processes, working with very large datasets, and reporting on real-time data.
Responsibilities
  • Greenfield development of internal tools used for monitoring and reporting on the health and performance of the Derivatives Trading System
  • Greenfield development of internal tools used to automate performance and non-functional testing of the Derivatives Trading System
  • Responsible for the entire SDLC process including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support
  • Analyze difficult problems, work with the team to design simple solutions, then implement the solution independently
Knowledge And Experience
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Thorough knowledge of the core Java API
  • Experience writing Modern JavaScript
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
  • Experience writing SQL
  • Experience with source code management tools such as Git
  • Exceptional problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
Preferred experience, but not required
  • Spring or Spring Boot
  • Angular and RxJS or similar
  • TypeScript or JSX
  • RESTful API design
  • WebSockets or Server-Sent Events
  • Programming in MySQL, Oracle, or InfluxDB
  • Relational or NoSQL data modeling
  • Topic based Publish-Subscribe messaging
