Overview
Ntrepid is looking for a versatile software engineer with strengths in distributed systems to support a new product development activity. The role will participate in the development, deployment, and scaling of innovative data collection and analytic tools.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the product development team and Infrastructure teams to innovate and implement improvements to the design of collection, storage, computational, and web service layers of medium to big data real-time analytic tools
- Ensure that internal and external requirements for application reliability, latency, and scalability are satisfied
- Implement functional and performance testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting strategies for production systems
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance
- Degree in Computer Science or related field required
- 5+ years of experience
- Proven capacity to design and build complex data-intensive software systems
- Experience developing systems using Ruby, Python, and Java
- Experience with modern web frameworks and application architectures such as Rails and Flask
- Experience both developing and using REST based web services
- Experience with data management using RDBMS
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols, especially HTTP
- Experience with container technologies (Docker) desirable
- Experience with AWS or other cloud providers desirable
