Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for a Financial Systems Data Analyst in our Kansas City, Austin, or Milwaukee office.
The Financial Systems Data Analystsresponsibilities include the day to day administration of the Firms Elite accounting, time and billing system, supporting attorneys and other internal clients by providing data and end-user support, and ensuring financial information data integrity. Focus on internal and external clients, including but not limited to: attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff and clients. Provide consultation, project management and advice on technology systems and needs. Essential job functions include:
- Supports the Firms enterprise class Accounting system and all ancillary systems including Time Entry, Invoice Production, New Business Intake, Budgeting, Asset Management, Conflict Processing and other financial systems.
- Monitor SQL databases and servers to ensure healthy and efficient environments
- Become subject matter expert on assigned datasets
- Develop and maintain tables, queries, stored procedures, and user defined functions as needed by internal requirements
- Develop methods and processes to interact with various cloud based APIs using SOAP and RESTful APIs
- Develop and maintain data synchronizations between the Firm and other key data providers using SSIS or other ETL techniques.
- Become subject matter expert on Azure based SQL server techniques
- Assist in design and implementation of financial cubes using SSAS
- Assist in design and implementation of Power-BI dashboards
- Assist and design reports using SSRS
- Assist in creation and maintenance of master database and processes surrounding ETL tools
- Propose and implement new processes to improve efficiency of department
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives.
- Assists with implementing software application version upgrades
- Support collaboration between accounting, vendor and all third party applications.
- Provide project management guidance to internal and external client base.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture development from a business needs point of view.
- Monitor, and assist in troubleshooting system performance or data integrity issues.
- Open tickets with vendor support to resolve issues
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Sound understanding of application life cycles and client/server architectures in an enterprise environment.
- MS SQL Server skills a must.
- Experience developing in C# or vb.net
- Ability to work across departments to understand both the technical and business needs of the customer and leverage new or existing technologies to provide the best solution.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate desired outcomes.
- Ability to evaluate and implement new systems quickly and effectively in a law firm setting.
- Ability to deliver superior service to all internal and external customers and communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees at all times; professional appearance required.
- Ability to successfully perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team; ability and willingness to adapt to changing business demands.
- Ability to produce acceptable amount of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce quality final work product.
- Ability to exercise good judgment at all times by making sound and practical decisions; ability to assume responsibility for decisions and act decisively under deadlines.
- High level of professional integrity required; ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust.
- General understanding of law firms, legal teams and processes used by both would be a plus.
Other desired qualifications:
- Techniques used to gather and document requirements include process flows, interview skills, workshop facilitation and investigation of current state (existing systems and/or processes).
- Experience in working with XML and/or JSON data files.
- Experience with Java and or Jquery.
- Experience with Azure.
- Experience with cloud services.
