Engineer, Systems Architecture Device Performance & Analytics

Description
The Engineer, Systems Architecture - Device Performance and Analytics is responsible for defining and analyzing device performance metrics, and recommending device optimization, guidelines and strategy. The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Defining and analyzing device level metrics including 5G and IOT devices.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating device issues, through metric and stats analysis and tracing.
  • Driving device optimization including device parameters, features and capabilities.
  • Utilizing existing tools to analyze and create device level analytics and performance metrics, such as network probes, CDRs/EDRs and device client measurements.
  • Analyzing network services (IOT, RCS, Wi-Fi, Volte, Video, 911 etc..)  performance and adoption, from device perspective.
  • Defining device analytics strategy and guidelines, including a centralized device analytics portal and gray market devices.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:
  • Device Performance and Optimization. Provide performance standards and improvement guidelines by working with various cross functional teams and equipment vendors for new technology and services such as 5G and IoT. Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete performance strategy. Independent study of current and new technology is expected.
  • Device and Services Analytics. Define, analyze, and optimize device level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), stats and analytics. Analyze the impact of device SW upgrades and the performance of newly launched devices.
  • Device Analytics Reporting and Automation. Lead the development and standardization of device analytic processes, including device features management, gray market analytics and a centralized device analytics portal. Drive automation in determining device level issues and in providing device insights to engineering and business teams.
  • Innovation: Provide device strategy guidelines and recommendations to improve device performance through advanced analytics, insights and device/client intelligence. Analyze device statistics and trends to determine areas of improvement for device- network efficiency and optimal customer experience.
  • Collaborative: Work with cross functional teams to develop specifications the centralized device analytics portal and the processes for enterprise-wide device reporting standards. Coordinate and align with Device Lab Validation, Post-Launch, Technical Account and Device Design & Strategy teams, to improve overall device performance and in creating business strategies for devices.
  • Technical Writing and Exec Presentation: Create clear documentation on performance guidelines, requirements and strategy. Develops technical data for incorporation into executive presentations that translates technical issues and recommendations into business impact.
  • Technology Strategy: Understands current technology that supports business goals and network services.
  • Wireless Network/LTE System Expertise: Understands system and technology protocols, how systems operate and data flows related LTE.


  • Qualifications:

    Qualifications
  • 2+ years of wireless (LTE) network or device or data analytics & engineering experience.
  • Have strong analytical skills to solve business problems, and to develop innovative ideas and creative solutions.
  • Experience in data analytics and the ability to solve complex problems through analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in data querying and processing with databases, such as SQL, Teradata, Hadoop, as well as data presentation and visualization using Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI
  • Ability to coordinate, lead and engage with a diverse engineering and business (marketing, finance, strategy, product) teams.
  • Education
    Minimum Required
     
  • Bachelors Degree. Engineering, Computer Science etc.

    Must be able to communicate with others effectively through written communication methods. Must be able to communicate (talking, hearing, etc.) with others effectively through oral communication methods. This position requires working with a computer
