Lead, develop and implement technology strategies, projects and roadmaps for technology and platforms supporting insurance/financial services business needs. Develop and maintain shared technical architectural models, diagrams and documentation for core policy administration systems and associated integrated systems. Provide technical leadership over project teams implementing solutions for policy administration platforms and integrations. Ensures technology and platforms are aligned with IT Enterprise Architecture patterns and standards. Collaborates with IT Enterprise Architecture and other IT Capability Architects to develop standards and patterns for developers to use and adhere to throughout the company. Identify options and solutions to technology challenges to continually move projects and new technology adoption forward.
Essential Job Functions
Provide technology oversight for platforms, integrations and development tools for assigned technology area. This includes consistently updating models, diagrams and documentation for technology.
Provides technical project oversight for large projects that span multiple technology platforms and integrations
Develop both conceptual and detailed architectural plans and work with internal and external partners and providers to drive technology solution delivery and uplift.
Participate or lead in the definition, establishment, documentation, implementation and continuous updates of portfolio technology including standards, patterns and methods.
Participate or lead in the definition and implementation of continuous integration/DevOps adoption.
Proposes and drives core technology projects that can be integrated into business projects that will uplift technology and ensure technology portfolio stays current.
Participates in capability maturity assessments to assist with determination of gaps and needs to close gaps and be responsible for associated diagrams and documentation.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and IT management to develop opportunities for improvements that to strengthen system resiliency and reduce costs.
Continuous research and education on existing and new technology in order to support recommending new solutions.
Provides technical leadership and direction to developers and technology teams.
Collaborate with internal and external partners and providers to drive architectural plans via completion of conceptual and detail design documents.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
8-10 years experience required: Programming experience and exposure to a wide range of technologies and technology platforms, system design and documentation, 3+ years general supervisory experience preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or equivalent specialized training, work experience and/or certifications.
5+ experience delivery expertise and knowledge of enterprise based solutions, integrations and databases.
5+ years of technical experience in insurance/financial services preferred.
Experience with and/or knowledge in JBoss, Java, Linux, AS400, Spring Integration, ESB integration, DevOps, Continuous Integration will be considered beneficial.
