BAO Systems is looking for a seasoned and talented Front-End Developer to join our team delivering data systems for collection, integration, aggregation, analysis and reporting of public health, financial, HR, supply chain, and other external data sources to support decision making for a large federal client
We are looking for someone that can work with our Agile Scrum team to create JavaScript framework applications using React (preferred) or other frameworks (Angular, node.js).
You will:
- Architect efficient and reusable front-end solutions
- Be able to create quick prototypes for testing products and validating concepts.
- Code the design team's designs to be pixel perfect, while pushing the envelope with the latest trends and best practices.
- Concept, ideate and collaborate with the Product team, being an integral part of the project solution.
You are:
- A graduate with a bachelor degree in computer science or similar field.
- Flexible and comfortable with multi-tasking between projects and multiple teams
- Passionate about creating high-quality, fast, accessible user interfaces.
- Obsessive about the design details and strive to knockout pixel perfect UI
- Able to understand business objectives and proactively contribute both strategic and innovative ideas
- An excellent communicator, both spoken and written, and comfortable with presenting ideas and concepts to team members and stakeholders.
You have:
- Absolute mastery of of HTML/CSS, including the concepts of responsive layout, design systems, mobile and cross browser compatibility
- A portfolio or work examples to clearly demonstrate experience developing and shipping web applications with a user-focused mindset.
- 5+ years of JavaScript and framework experience (React, AngularJS, Node.js)
- The ability to hand craft JavaScript at an intermediate to advance level (form validation, DOM manipulation, etc.)
- 5+ years experience with browser APIs and optimizing front-end performance
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary product development team in a scrum environment
- Strong understanding of XML/JSON
- Experience with GitHub; resolving code conflicts, versioning issues, etc.
- Experience building products and services for international audiences and familiar with best practices and techniques to cater to those users
- Working experience with Java, Python, and PostgreSQL
Bonus:
- Experience working with International NGO's or in the public health sector
- Familiarity with DHIS2 or other open source Health Information System projects
- SASS/LESS familiarity and/or experience
- UI/UX Design experience, especially as it relates to user testing
