Critical Mass’s Chicago office is looking for a Frontend Tech Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity as we build a new team to service a dynamic set of brands in the health insurance industry. As Tech Lead you’ll be in charge of the day-to-day – overseeing the technology team and working to improve the process and systems we use to deliver a unified set of digital experiences. We have the ability to determine and quickly evolve the systems and process used to deliver our work, so you’ll be able to have an immediate impact. More important than any particular technical skill, ideal candidates will be able to deftly troubleshoot and problem solve – both technical and process issues.
As Tech Lead you’ll partner with a technical Project Manager to allot work and coordinate releases. POCs, DevOps, etc. Your team will have all the skills necessary from front-end talent to operational support including QA and DBA.
You will:
- Work with the Technology Director on strategic initiatives and campaign work.
- Scope technical components of overall solutions accurately.
- Enforce the client development process and ensure appropriate project documentation.
- Provide hands-on development support to project team where necessary.
- Contribute to solution architecture designs and lead code reviews.
- Understand technical complexities of multi-tiered web solutions and ensure appropriate design solutions are achieved.
- Be a liaison to the Hangar development team.
You have:
- 5+ years previous experience working as Senior Software Engineer.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of ES6 JavaScript outside of any library/framework abstraction.
- Experience managing development and delivery of commercial websites or web apps.
- Familiarity with website operations and fluency in the typical tiers on a high traffic website.
- Detailed problem solver and troubleshooting experiencing.
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools - JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.
- Experience managing or leading a team.
- Adobe Experience Manager on version 6.0 or later.
- Experience with Angular JS.
- Experience working in an agency and/or creative and/or technical consultancy environment.
