Purpose:
The Senior IT Financial Systems Analyst acts as a primary liaison for Athene Finance teams to ensure that corporate projects and business unit enhancements are implemented appropriately with existing finance systems and reporting requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Assists in the definition, analysis, testing and documentation for upgrades, replacements, or enhancements to Athene financial systems applications, including but not limited to ALIP, Oracle EBS, Hyperion and other various applications.
- Identifies opportunities to automate business processes and interfaces with internal and external business partners.
- Manages the impact of upstream release schedules relating to changes impacting Finance, as well as communicating conflicts and future release dates of other various Source Systems.
- Participates effectively in development of test plans to reduce financial risk within the General Ledger, including the appropriate “go/no go decision” recommendation.
- Performs necessary administrative functions, including process map creation, metrics, communications, project reporting and updates.
- Works directly with finance teams, process teams, business leaders, and IT project teams to ensure technology solutions and processes support Athene business objectives.
- Works on behalf of Finance to safeguard the General Ledger and other Finance Systems and mitigate risk associated with upstream Source System, infrastructure and/or configuration changes.
- Works with team leads and team members to identify and implement new solutions that leverage and support the Finance Systems architecture. This will normally be done through participation in Source System upgrades, on-boarding of new Source Systems, and internal requests from Finance due to ongoing changes in reporting requirements.
- Acts as a consultant on business process improvements and technology enhancements.
- Analyzes moderate to complex problems, processes and systems by working with various business unit members to understand, document and interpret that analysis into a comprehensive business solution.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible business systems/process analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of Finance Systems.
- Experience gathering requirements, probing into problems, facilitating meetings, documenting specifications and coordinating or leading projects.
- Experience with GAAP and STAT accounting basis.
- Experience with Windows 10, MS Word/Excel/Access/Power Point, Business Objects and Smart View.
- Life insurance industry knowledge preferred.
- Prior experience as a Business Analyst or Jr Project Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
