We’re looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer to join the Product Development team.
The role is a senior position, responsible for building high-quality features that solve
problems for millions of customers, while maintaining strong development standards.
Based in beautiful Richmond, London, just by the riverside, you will join a team of over 40
engineers constantly innovating and delivering value to millions of people every day. We
work in an Agile environment in cross-functional squads, building features using
continuous integration and constant testing with our users.
The role
- Build new and awesome experiences for customers, supporting bold business plans.
- Develop features using continuous integration, ensuring quality and stability of the
- platform.
- Work in a cross-functional Agile squad alongside product, QA, UX and front-end
- engineers.
- Continually innovate and optimise our technology, tools and performance.
- Mentor and support team mates, assisting with code reviews, technical strategy and hiring.
- Promote clean, testable and maintainable code that is modular and scalable.
We’re looking for:
- Experience required in: Java 8, Spring, JUnit and PostgreSQL.
- Experience desired or interest in: Scala, Akka, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, Hadoop,
- Jenkins, JUnit, ScalaTest, TestNG, Mockito and Cucumber.
- Proven track record delivering high performant, responsive websites built with clean,
- scalable and testable code.
- Familiar with working in teams and delivering software using Agile methodologies.
- Comfortable providing and receiving constructive criticism while participating in code
- reviews.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical people.
