Your Tasks:
1&1 Mail & Media is the biggest German mail provider, with international brands and more than 38 million active users worldwide. In a collaborative and agile environment developing towards DevOps culture, the best tooling and platforms are making a difference when aiming for fast time-to-market, secure services and state-of-the-art products. We're setting up a team that will be dedicated to design, develop and support the infrastructure and platform that suits the needs of our technical teams. Our goal is to enable our organization to act fast by automation and infrastructure as code, deliver supreme quality and have fun working together on the next generation products in an agile and collaborative environment. We want you in our team if you:
- See yourself as system administrator and software developer, and have experience in at least one role.
- Know your way around Linux, the deployment of software artifacts and the operation of applications and/or have good programming skills - preferably Python, Java or Go.
- Are a strong advocate for automation - and have been working with tools like Ansible and GoCD.
- Know how to collaborate and communicate well - asynchronously as well as personally.
- Have a proactive, go-for-it attitude. When you see something broken or someone struggling, you can't help but fix it.

As part of this new team you'll be taking care that your platform and tools are used by software development and operations engineering, helping the colleagues to make the best use of your solution. Based on their feedback and new technical demands, you continuously improve and enhance the platform. Areas of expertise and interest:
- Programming in Python, Java or Go.
- Deployment Automation.
- Monitoring and metrics in Prometheus, Elastic Search.
- Linux System Administration, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Service orientation and communication, in English and German.
