As a technologist working for J.P. Morgan Chases (JPMC) Private Bank (PB) Global Wealth Management business you will be involved from the start with a complex and multifaceted data landscape. Our group, The Management Information Systems (MIS) Reporting team, works with all of the major applications and data repositories across the PB and the wider firm of JPMC. As such we are looking for someone who is motivated by a challenge and comes to work looking to solve problems, not simply take direction.

In this role we seek to find someone who has experience in the technical demands, but also has an aptitude to go beyond their existing knowledge and skills to become an active participant in our journey to create a flagship data platform. 

Tasks can and will fluctuate based on aptitude, starting from an initial trial where the candidate will prove their capability and have time to learn the data to assisting and leading (if suited for the responsibility) to incorporating data into our data reservoir.  Fostering a strong team community is key to our mandate, but we seek to bring in self-starters who can hit the ground running and know how to get things done. 


Technical:

  • 3+ years software development experience required in Data Warehouse environment/Data Integration (ETL/ELT)
  • Hands-on experience using any of ETL tool (Informatica) required
  • Knowledge of SQL/ NoSQL
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Demonstrated ability to translate functional/high level design in detailed technical design
  • Experience with both on-line and batch processing, shell scripts / Perl programming is a plus
  • Strong Hands on experience with Relational databases like Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server
  • Java/Python or other Programming skillsets a plus
  • Large data analysis experience

Soft Skills:

  • High degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Background/Experience in the financial sector a major plus
  • Experience with Big Data is a plus
  • Experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC) in a professional team environment including requirements collection, solution design, implementation, code reviews, testing and operational support
  • Partner with non-technical stakeholders to understand their analytical needs, help frame the problem by asking the right questions, document and prioritize requirements. Clearly communicate results of complex technical work. High standards for code quality, maintainability, testing, and performance.
