WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Partner with Executive team to create technical vision and roadmap for the company
- Improve development processes and establish best practices for high quality releases and a clean, scalable code base
- Lead and manage the day to day operations of the Engineering Team including coding reviews and task planning
- Drive architectural decisions and work with Product to scope and iterate on new features
- Establish and track key metrics (engineering velocity), report sprint progress and provide estimates to execute on timely product releases
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and inclusivity that helps maximize productivity and professional growth for engineers
- Serve as a go-to-resource for engineers on a wide range of technical problems
- Recruit world-class engineering talent, evolve the organizational structure of the Engineering team, and define clear career paths
WHO YOU ARE:
- Technical Depth and Breadth to understand X-Mode's Stack (Back-End, Front-End, iOS, Android)
- Strong people manager - ability to inspire, influence and engage direct/indirect reports and peers
- Past leadership experience managing and scaling a team of engineers (5-10+ engineers is preferable)
- Successful track record at past startups (Esp. B2B) of creating and implementing engineering management best practices
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships, interface with executive team, and present to X-Mode’s board of directors
- Experience with Geolocation and passion for X-Mode's mission
- 10+ years of Technical Developer Experience
