QA Engineer Discipline Lead at Tempo Software (Montreal, QC, Canada)

We are looking for an amazing person with a solid track record in leading QA software practices in a challenging environment to help us make our products even better. If you are capable of balancing technical rigour with a flexible, yet systematic approach to software quality you might be the one we need.


The desired senior level candidate will develop and promote QA best practices and standards in all aspects of the QA software function, including manual and automated test.


The role involves:



  • Providing discipline leadership for all engineers setting objectives, training, coaching, communicating job expectations; as well as collaborating within Tempo to enforce policies and procedures.

  • Facilitating the development for software quality aspects within his team; help enforcing policies, standards and procedures to raise and maintain high quality engineering practices across the organisation.

  • Assessing product requirements, make sure that they are met and that there is a testing plan for each requirement.

  • Key contributor in the transition to automation, in particular automatic regression testing.


The ideal candidate:



  • Has a solid track record of leading of QA practices, process development and implementation.

  • Is highly structured and organized yet flexible enough to thrive with changing requirements and schedules.

  • Has a solid experience and understanding of testing approaches and methodologies, automated testing, continuous integration and the software development life cycle.

  • Automation tools: Webdriver.io, Selenium Webdriver (Java), JMeter or any other load testing tool.

  • Experience in BDD or TDD development processes and relative tools integration into the company development workflow.

  • Programming languages: Javascript, Java and Python more preferable.

  • Experience with Jira is a plus.

  • Takes an analytical approach to issues and finds problem solving both fun and rewarding.

  • Is a strong English communicator and clearly articulates ideas and concepts, both verbally and in writing.

  • Loves collaborating with teams and individuals to both clarify and understand the user needs and technical capabilities.
