GASTROFIX provides a revolutionary, cloud based POS (point of sale) system for Apple iPad covering the whole hospitality industry from small restaurants to entire hotel chains.
Our international team of 130 employees has sold 14,000+ highly reliable POS systems throughout Europe, managing over 3,6bn Euro turnover per year for our clients.
We are growing fast and looking for you on a full-time basis for our headquarter in Berlin.
Your job
- Agile software development in cross-functional scrum teams
- Develop new modules in Python for our POS Platform
- Improve, document and maintain existing Python apps
- Work in an agile environment with great people from around the world
Your profile
- Strong software development skills in Python
- Knowledge of Javascript (ES6 and Javascript frameworks) is a plus
- 2+ years of work experience as a software engineer
- Good conceptual understanding of distributed, asynchronous systems
- Understanding of code beauty and pythonic style
- Enjoying working and communicating in a team
- Experience working with git version control
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Solid English skills
Optional skills and experience
- BSc / MSc in computer science or similar qualification
- Mastering other programming languages (e.g. Javascript, Java, Objective-C)
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL or other SQL-based databases
- Fundamental IP network knowledge
- Skills using Linux and MacOS
- Experience with Raspberry Pi / Raspbian
