We are a small company that develops mobile solutions to protect national security and everyday folks. That includes Android; programming in Java, C, C++, Scala, and Python; writing security policies, and everything in between.
What you will do
As the product owner of an integrated scrum team, you will help drive all aspects of solution development, bring your knowledge and understanding to the team, and have input on the direction of our mobile solutions.
But what specifically?
Write code, integrate system components, test and make sure everything works as expected, create solution documentation, participate in code reviews, merge changes into the build tree, lead discussions about how to solve problems with the team, attend daily standups, lead sprint closeout and planning meetings to demonstrate what the team worked on to stakeholders, and generally get things done. You’ll also visit customer sites occasionally to help them use our solutions.
What you will use
Many government contractors have you working on locked-down Windows systems with no tools, maximizing your development agony. Not us! We don’t even have any Windows laptops (we all use Mac laptops because… you know). We use modern tools like git and Jira—no SVN and bugzilla here.
What you need to know
Android and Java are key to our mobile work. It is essential that you are able to communicate effectively with the team, stakeholders, and customers. Being a good programmer that is not too picky about the language is a plus—some of our mobile work is on systems that utilize different languages at different parts of the stack. SELinux experience is preferred, but is not required—if needed, we will get you up to speed.
What we offer
We offer benefits like employer paid healthcare and 401k contributions, and we also help pay for conferences you want to go to (we have people go to DEFCON and BSides every year). We do not have a set amount of vacation time, just be reasonable and enjoy yourself. We are a fully transparent company, our finances are open to all employees, we discuss business in front of everyone, and we hope you get a good feel for how companies work so that you can start your own one day. Our salaries (including the owners) are determined by a formula, so there is no pressure to negotiate—we never want a good engineer to be punished for not being a good negotiator.
Clearance
An active Secret clearance or the willingness and ability to get a Secret clearance is required for this work.
Citizenship
At this time, due to government contracts, we can only accept applications from U.S. citizens.
