DAT Solutions, a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team in Beaverton, Oregon.
We are looking for a versatile Software Test Engineer who is equally skilled at both automated and manual testing. The Software Test Engineer will be part of an Agile Scrum team that is focused on creating a new product with API, web, and mobile components. The test responsibility is primarily identifying, writing, and automating API and web tests within our existing Cucumber/Ruby framework. The position requires a highly collaborative team member who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and has the attitude to do whatever it takes to help the team and ensure the product is thoroughly tested on behalf of end-users.
Software Test Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly test API and web application
- Collaborate with the QA team in writing Cucumber feature files
- Implement Step Definitions using Ruby scripting language
- Effectively troubleshoot and diagnose defect causes
- Adapt, collaborate, and communicate effectively within Agile Scrum team
- Analyze test results and make recommendations for product improvement
Software Test Engineer Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience testing RESTful APIs and web applications
- Proficient in at least one automation scripting language, e.g. Python or Ruby
- Candidates must be willing and able to take full responsibility for a project or task from concept to completion with minimal supervision.

- A passion for investigating into how products work in determining root cause of defects
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
Software Test Engineer Experience in the following technologies a plus:
- Cucumber
- Selenium
- Amazon Web Services
Education: Associates or Bachelors Degree in information technology, software engineering, or computer science, or equivalent experience.
