Principle Infrastructure Engineer; VMWare Automation
Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer; VMWare Automation is responsible for designing and delivering VMWare automation services to all HealthEdge customers and internal departments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing complex infrastructure that runs applications which demand extremely high availability and performance. This individual has a broad skill set and a curious attitude – the ability and desire to learn brand new technologies and adapt current skills constantly is critical to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated expert on specific technologies or products; sought after technical resource for complex problems and able to effectively troubleshoot
- Proactively identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to current processes and challenges faced
- Effectively understands and can execute tactical assignments with limited to no oversight
- Consistently participates in strategic planning
- Effectively trains junior team members and peers on technology and process matters
- Works effectively in a team
- Identifies knowledge gaps and closes them; demonstrates consistent intellectual curiously and drive to learn more and self-develop himself/herself
- Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures, including those which govern handling PHI and PII
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 8+ Years of managing and maintaining enterprise VMWare Environments
- 4+ years on IT Automation such as Ansible; or other IT Automation Tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
- Deep understanding of designing, deploying and troubleshooting client Windows and Linux-based servers using VMWare virtualization technology
- Strong analytical and deep-dive problem solving skills across multiple disciplines. (HW, OS, Network, etc.)
- The ability to prioritize and field tier III support requests, via ticket SalesForce, phone and occasional ad-hoc walk-ups
- Management and deployment experience of 3rd party software platforms and solutions
- In-depth experience working with the following technologies:
- VMware vRealize Automation
- VMware vRealize Orchestrator
- VMware vRealize Operations Manager
- Knowledge of Dell EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud; including the following technologies
- VxRail Hyperconverged Hardware
- VMWare VSAN
- RP4VM
- Avamar
- Data Domain
- Strong scripting skills in Powershell with the ability to develop and troubleshoot
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of 10+ individuals in execution of strategic objectives and plans as well as running and maintain operations for 3000+ servers
- Demonstrated experience doing capacity planning and managing to a system life cycle
- Experience with information security frameworks, controls, and concepts including HITRUST, ISO 27001/2, NIST 800-53 rev 4., and/or HIPAA/HITECH
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile concepts; Super candidates are those with experience building a DevOps function
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and services, specifically change control, incident management, service delivery, problem management, and knowledge management
- Flexibility to provide after-hours support on rotational basis
