RateIt is looking for a full stack dev to join our growing team
We've created an easy and delightful way to gather in-person ratings and NPS to help retailers, healthcare providers and government groups improve their execution and find new growth opportunities. We do this in a way that’s easy, delightful and makes a difference.
RateIt collects customer ratings via our beautiful tablet app, web app or physical tokens. On the back-end, our customers access insights through an online portal, giving them a clear view of their CX feedback at every interaction.
Our team who really puts their money where their mouths rea: we run a super popular podcast (CX Leaders) and are serious about making a name for themselves as the authority in the customer feedback space, with big brand customers from all over the world already singing their praises.
Only having launched in 2016, we've already partnered with some pretty serious brands… Bose, Adidas, BMW, KFC, Fitness First, Harvey Norman, 7/11, just to name a few. And in these first two years, we've collected four million ratings and have grown to a team of 30 people!
The why
We've got a proven product which both our public users and B2B customers love to use. Seriously, our engagement stats are kinda nuts. We're solving a real problem and have implemented a business model which is working – so we're set up for some exciting long-term growth and are on track for a successful Series A.
Our team is set up to function remote-first, with staff throughout Australia, a handful of people international and a hub now forming in Melbourne. This is where you come in.
The what
As a full-stack developer, you will join an engineering team of five (and growing) including two experienced full stack devs, one senior front end/UXer, one UI designer and one talented mobile dev. They’re supported by our director of product and design and the CTO.
Working on all lines of product, you’ll be involved early in the process from technical, functional and UI/UX requirements through to delivery – building a delightful, high-performance web application. If you’re keen, there are opportunities to get involved in building the mobile apps, continuous integration and DevOps too.
Everyone in this team takes start-to-finish technical ownership of features and/or applications from inception to delivery. We work in a Scrum style, with sprints, retros, standups and an iterative, human-centred approach. Our product process is both data-driven and empathetic, with an emphasis on research and validation over feature factory shipping theatre.
Our tech stack today is a REST services architecture using ASP.NET with component-driven Angular 4 on the front-end. It’s hosted on Microsoft Azure and uses a large number of Azure’s services.
The technical chops you will need:
- Proven significant experience working with multiple modern server-side languages including SQL and ASP.NET (or other similar MVC frameworks with enough seniority to transfer across)
- Demonstrated experience coding in Javascript, particularly with SPA frameworks such as React or Angular
- Proven understanding and experience in web application architecture, object-oriented software and advanced design patterns would be lovely to have
- Experience working with a hosted cloud platform and ability to speak to the challenges and benefits, particularly Microsoft Azure
- Startup experience is highly desirable – if you’re the magic mix of enterprise software and startup dreams, enquire within!
The how
Your role will be as remote as you want it to be - work from home our take advantage of our office and hang out with the Melbourne crew. You can work from home, from the coworking space/new WeWork office, or on the couch with your puppy on your lap. By “remote first” they mean remote team members are first class citizens, and the business is optimised for it: high collaboration, great tools and a strong team culture are guaranteed.
What’s in it for you?
The opportunity to have an impact and leave a legacy. You'll have autonomy and you’ll be given a whole lot of growth opportunities. You’ll be working on an interesting product suite with a lot to do, whether it’s shaping process or creating real customer value.
I mentioned high transparency culture; this isn’t just another buzzword tagline. We live and breathe it. RateIt takes staff development seriously, and the autonomy and trust lead to high impact, satisfying work.
What do you want to learn? What are your goals? This might just be the place to be supported and follow those, finally!
