Sr. Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management at T-Mobile USA (Richardson, TX)

Be an Un-Carrier team member of the Security domain in T-Mobile by driving and owning our critical Identity and Access Management platform(s) for our internal users.  Help delight our frontline team and our customers by setting the direction of our mission critical IDAM – implement ever-changing security practices on our new IDaaS from start to finish, while improving the performance and roadmap of our existing systems.


Responsibilities:
Strategy



  • Supports the technical vision and strategy development for the Identity and Access Management

  • Works with the development teams to plan objectives and the strategy to comply with professional standards and address the risks to the business.

  • Works cross-functionally with business teams to help resolve pain points and reduce manual work

  • Works with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for different lines of business that helps them succeed in their business goals.


Relationship and People Management



  • Develops and supports sprint team model by being involved beginning to end

  • Understands design and provides feedback to the team for operational concerns

  • Collaborates with architects and other Software Engineers on design

  • Collaborates with other Operational teams in resolving issues and improving system performance as well as availability

  • Manage contract resource work


Other responsibilities



  • Experience implementing and supporting business critical, high volume, and highly available Digital applications.

  • Lead in the adoption of new vision, strategy, technology, processes as appropriate

  • Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as well as remediation steps to prevent future occurrence

  • Understand pipeline of projects and plan operational configurations required for smooth deployment

  • Provide and collaborate with development team in constantly improving deployment, troubleshooting, and automation

  • Own the platform and understand system behaviors by creating telemetrics and alerting for smooth system operation

  • Understand and apply Identity and Access Management principles in securing company and customer information

  • Ensure critical functions are available 24x7

  • Recommends new ideas and work with development team to implement them in order to provide better system performance, availability, and ease of maintenance

  • Resolve issues/conflicts in the best interest of the business

  • Maintains technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training

  • Utilizes product lifecycle methodology as a guide for development activities

  • Provide on-call and after hours support as required for production releases and to respond and provide active resolution support on production outages

  • Exemplifies “you own it” mentality on the products that is owned by the team

  • Delivers projects utilizing Agile Scrum Methodology

  • Address production ticket requests promptly with in SLA

  • Apply OS patching and weblogic patches for all systems under the team

  • Look for opportunities to reduce footprint and lower total cost of ownership for the team


Minimum Requirements



  • Minimum 5 years’ Application Development and/or Operational Support Experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience working on RDBMS (Oracle or SQL 2000).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working on Unix based systems with strong understanding of commands and scripting

  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience as a Support Analyst or Software Engineer is desirable, preferably in the wireless industry.

  • Experience in handling critical production issues and providing quick solutions under pressure

  • Has experience mentoring other members of technical/development staff

  • Experience in application support and software development life cycle

  • Strong skills in analysis, coding, troubleshooting, and debugging

  • Strong ability to work in a in a fast pasted environment with changing priorities

  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, technical and non-technical audiences while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence

  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management functionalities, including Authentication (Single Sign On, Federated Login, Multifactor, Biometric), Authorization, Provisioning

  • Experience knowledge in Oracle Identity Management Fusion suite as well as OKTA platforms

  • Experience/understanding of Digital Technologies, theories, principles, and practices in the development/management of cloud based Microservices, Microapps, etc.,

  • Preferred experience in Agile Scrum Methodologies

  • Self-starter with a high degree of self-management and commitment to delivery timelines


Education and Other



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering
