Who?


Twilio's Data Platform team is looking for Senior Software Engineer to deliver a self-service platform of powerful, scalable, reliable and high-performance data services and infrastructure to keep up with our rapid growth and the increasing demands of our product teams, business units and external customers.  You will develop low latency, highly available, globally distributed services in the flight path of every voice call and SMS message.  Do you have experience in designing and building data pipelines for handling millions of events per seconds?  Are you an expert in leading open source data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, S3 and REST APIs?  Would you like to own and operate production services in AWS cloud infrastructure using the latest tools, like Datadog and Rollbar, then this position is for you. Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field is a minimum requirement.


What?


A great day would look like leading the development of data products, services and tools, in Java, Scala and Python and advising best practices. You will be driving quality by writing unit tests, functional tests, and performance tests in a continuous delivery environment. To deliver the products, you will be breaking down the requirements, estimating the tasks , planning the work accurately and executing the definition of done in Production. In addition to developing the product, you will be supporting development operations, building, releasing and assisting with team on-call. Teams will be small and empowered so that you can move fast  and ship to production multiple times in a 2 week sprint. You will collaborate with other teams and work cross-functionally for product launches. At the same time, you will be helping more junior developers by mentoring them, providing guidance, and positively influencing their careers.
