Product Manager at FocusVision Worldwide (Portland, OR)

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Product Manager at FocusVision, you will manage and be responsible for the Insights Product line that enhances all of our research products (Decipher, Revelation, InterVu). It is a key piece that adds value to all components of our product portfolio. The position requires a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, an ability to manage day-to-day tasks that achieve business goals, and collaborate with internal resources to map innovative solutions for customer problems to stay ahead of competitors.

Communication with all divisions of the company is paramount. The Product Manager will work with engineering to define product requirements critical to business objectives, and with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy; helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. As the Product Manager, you will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product, working daily with the sales channel and key customers.

Who are you as a person?

  • Customer focused. You love customers. You love talking with them, learning from them, educating them, and getting them excited about your product.

  • A great collaborator and communicator. You know your ability to achieve results and product outcomes is through influence and education. You have the rare ability to be equally able to communicate with software engineers as well C level business executives. You are as comfortable delivering an elevator pitch as you are going into the weeds of a product technical discussion.

  • A teacher. You love to educate others. You are the customer expert. Your engineering team needs your knowledge and education to understand the priority and why it is so important to customer and to the business.

  • A problem solver: You love taking on a challenge with problems to fix and find the best possible approach to resolve them. You love finding ways to remove obstacles and impediments to the team.

  • A driver. You make things happen, you prefer action to passivity. You cannot stand for things to remain blocked. You take action to get things moving.

  • Self-Motivated. The drive to deliver is just a part of you. You don’t go home without accomplishing something. You routinely get stuff done in the absence of clarity, guidance, or kudos. The engineering team will look at you to provide the required clarity and guidance.
