As an Embedded Firmware Engineer you’ll be part of the development of our new EVBox firmware for electronics within multiple projects. You will work on the overall product development strategy for embedded systems and report to our Senior Development Engineer - Embedded Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new EVBox firmware for electronics within multiple projects.
- Design new firmware for existing and future electronics platforms
- Creating reliable firmware for remotely accessible charging stations (both AC & DC), enabling remote control, monitoring and troubleshooting
- Working together with the team to enable future implementations of communication between electric vehicles and charging stations
- Developing firmware functionality living up to the ever-increasing security standards
- Test new electronics setup’s and firmware releases
- Develop testing protocols for firmware
- Guide Technical Support Engineers on new electronics setup’s and firmware releases
- Work on development of documentation (system) related to firmware
Job requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- Excellent programming experience in Embedded C
- Strong communication in both Dutch and English is a must
- Proven experience in embedded systems using ARM Cortex processors
- Experience in both dedicated embedded code development and operating system based (FreeRTOS, Linux)
- Experience in Network communication layers (CAN, UART, Bluetooth, Wifi)
- Experience with M2M communication standards and platforms (WebSocket, JSON, HTTP)
- Knowledge in data encryption and security principles
- Proven track record in successful firmware delivery for commercial systems/consumer products
- Familiar with Agile/Scrum
- Once a week travel to HQ based in Amsterdam
- Knowledge in electronics standards and automotive processes are a plus
