Role:
The successful candidate will be a member of the Title Data, and Asset Management team, within the NBCU IT organization. This role will focus on the software development, enhancement, maintenance and support of applications within the Film portfolio in support of the NBCUniversal Film business. This role offers the opportunity to be a member of a fast-paced and passionate development team creating modern SaaS / PaaS solutions focused on MDM, DAM, and AI-assisted Enterprise Search. The ideal candidate will be excited about building innovative cloud architecture software solutions from the ground up. This position will be exposed to a broad range of functional areas such as production, finance, marketing, studio operations, and enterprise analytics.
General
This is an exciting position that will be hands-on development for multiple applications and working on resources as part of our Title Data and Asset Management team
You will be joining a team of experienced developers, business analysts, and managers
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Develop, enhance and maintain applications within the Title Data and Asset Management portfolio of applications
Participate in project inceptions, scrums, iterations, planning estimating and retrospective discussions
Serve as part of a team that owns the production support with a large and diverse portfolio of applications, some of which are business critical with high visibility that occasionally requires support into off-hours
Operate in a matrixed organization as part of project teams for the design, development, and rollout of new applications
Participate in project and operational reviews, and help produce the necessary technical artifacts such as architecture diagrams, defect analysis documents, application performance metrics, etc. in support of the Film projects and existing applications
Understand IT industry trends, emerging technologies and use them as needed to achieve project objectives
Support and participate in the roadmap planning to ensure the technical health and stability of the application portfolio to remain current with technology development, trends and general vendor/platform/tool changes.
5+ years' experience working with following: C#, .NET, AngularJS, ASP.net MVC, IIS, OAuth. Web Services, AWS, HTML5, JavaScript, LESS, and CSS, SQL, Python, Scala
2+ years' experience in developing multi-tier or microservices RESTful Web APIs
2+ years' experience designing mobile-ready responsive websites using Bootstrap
Working experience with NOSQL search engines such as Lucene SOLR or Elasticsearch
Working experience with DevOps: Continuous Integration/Deployment, automated unit testing (like Jasmine & NUnit), and TFS/Jira
Familiar with security technologies, processes, and concepts such as PKI, SSL, firewalls, authentication & authorization and Single Sign-On
Familiar with network infrastructure and modern Cloud architecture design patterns (AWS or Azure)
Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to effectively translate requirements and solutions for customers, management, and team members
Strong experience, at least 5 years, of application support, maintenance and operations
Strong collaboration skills and an interest in working in a collaborative environment
General experience using defect tracking tools
General understanding of system architecture, integration, and software development lifecycle along with experience designing and architecting applications in web, client-server and mobile environments
General overall understanding of database, network, storage, and compute infrastructure
General understanding of security technologies, processes, and concepts such as PKI, SSL, firewalls, authentication & authorization and Single Sign-On
General experience with change management processes for application and configuration deployments
Experience with Media/Entertainment
Strong analytical & problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with agile development methodology
Familiar with BI tools such as Spark (Databricks), Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Teradata, or Snowflake
