Purpose of the role
The Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of software systems. The individual works with QA specialists, developers and business analysts to create quality and high-performance applications for internal users.

You will be accountable for

  • Designing, developing, testing and providing ongoing support of application components

  • Addressing any defects in the developed applications

  • Participating in internal/external audits accountable for resolution of any issues

  • Investigating issues and recommending or defining resolutions

  • Working with other software groups internally and with vendors to develop high quality solutions

  • Reviewing code as needed and providing technical input to junior team members and peers

  • Sizing development efforts based on business requirements

  • Reviewing business requirements, functional and technical specifications

  • Creating and maintaining design and technical documentation as required

  • Providing design input into new projects

  • Working with team members and project groups to turn requirements and ideas into successful software


  • Your experience includes

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field of study

  • 3+ year of programming / software development experience in Java, J2EE, JSF, EJB 3 and React 

  • Expert proficiency in Windows, USS and Linux environments

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and beyond

  • Strong working knowledge of SOA, web services as a provider of services, and open source software such as JBoss, Quartz, Hibernate

  • Experience in scripting unit tests using tools such as JUnit, TestNG

  • Application Packaging and Source Control (ANT, Jenkins)

  • Strong experience in application development and software development life cycle management in technical environments

  • Ability to interpret scope/requirements documentation and size development effort

  • Understanding of payment systems and the merchant acquiring business is an asset

  • Ability to construct and review detailed design documentation, discuss/refine requirements and needs with business managers or customers, discuss issues and projects with management
