The Role:
Nightlife Music is looking to add a new member to our established Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of new features and functionality to Nightlife’s suite of products and services. They will be involved in building and maintaining software solutions that:
- Allow for easy integrations with companies through the use of APIs
- Collect and analyse data for business insights
- Run on commercial hardware as well as cloud-based servers
Selection Criteria:

Required Skills:
- Computer Science Degree or equivalent
- An ability to communicate across multiple teams to take feedback on projects
- Frontend
- Experience with Angular
- Responsive design using HTML5 and CSS3 with experience using Bootstrap or similar
- Backend
- Application development with Node.js using Typescript
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL as well as NoSQL databases
- Understanding of stateless application design
- DevOps
- Proficiency with a Unix – like environment
- Experience using Docker to containerize applications
- Experience with either container orchestration, e.g. Kubernetes
- Experience with Continuous delivery/deployment/integration tools and practices
- Other
- Version control using Git
- Behaviour/Test Driven Development using tools such as Mocha, Chai, Jasmine
- Comprehensive understanding of Internet standards such as HTTP, WebSockets etc
Desirable Skills:
- Frontend
- Demonstrated corporate experience in UI/ UX design creation
- Experience using CSS pre-processors such as LESS or SASS
- Experience with other Frontend JavaScript frameworks such as React, Knockout, ExtJS etc
- Ability to efficiently develop and test across multiple browsers and platforms
- Backend
- Experience with caching engines such as Redis
- Experience with messaging queue services such as RabbitMQ
- DevOps
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Terraform
- Database Administration (Configuration, Clustering, Replication etc.)
- Diagnosing problems at any level (Client, HTTP/Network, Server, Database, OS)
- Other
- Building REST services and API design
- Experience in using Agile methodologies such as sprints, user stories, retrospectives, code reviews, pair programming etc.
- Technical writing
