Android Developer for Soldier-Worn Apps at MORSE Corp (Cambridge, MA)

**US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance**


As an Android Developer at MORSE, you will be focused on designing, developing, and deploying software for mobile Android-based applications. These applications support various autonomous vehicle systems and human teams, providing cutting edge algorithmic-based simulation, situational awareness, and mission planning capabilities to a wide variety of DoD customers.


The candidate must be eager to learn new technologies and stay on top of the latest trends. The candidate will work on a team developing new code bases that are heavily object-oriented, extensible, and maintainable. Therefore, the candidate must have a tacit understanding of design patterns and anti-patterns; polymorphism and encapsulation; high cohesion and low coupling; and the different strengths and weakness of various programming languages.


REQUIREMENTS


**US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance**


• 5+ years experience working with key technologies for the Android platform


• Fluency in Java 


• Knowledge of React and/or Kotlin


• Knowledge of Gradle Build System


• Knowledge/Experience working with popular Android Libraries(Dagger/Dagger2, RxJava, etc) 


• Experience consuming and/or designing REST APIs


• Strong UI development skills


• Knowledgeable about test driven development (TDD)


• Knowledgeable about popular Android test frameworks (Mockito, Espresso, Roboletric, etc)


• Experience with design patterns


• Experience with version control systems Git and/or Subversion


• Experience working with teams using Agile software development


• BS or MS (preferred) in computer science or equivalent degree, and at least 5 years of experience
