The Position:
or the further development of our software components in the Lending & Credit area, Avaloq seeks a motivated Software Engineer with an interest in the banking business and a passion for developing software.
As a member of the Lending & Credit development team you will be part of a dynamic team of Software Developers and Business Analysts located in Zurich, Edinburgh and Manila. The team is responsible for all functionality covered by the Avaloq Banking Suite related to Credit, Money Market and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB). During your daily work, you will come into contact with and get to know all aspects of the Lending & Credit businesses. Your contact with industry experts, external partners and customers will constantly challenge you to improve your knowledge of the software you create and the business which it covers.
Together with our Business Analysts, you will analyse customer requirements and design and develop new functionality or enhance existing features. Besides your focus on Lending & Credit product development, you will also have the opportunity to support development in other areas or work on interdisciplinary innovation projects.
Our core system is primarily programmed in PL/SQL with an increasing focus mobile- and web-applications being developed in Java and Javascript.
In the team, we approach our work in an agile fashion using the KANBAN methodology to organize our tasks and workload. The development takes place in our integrated development environment which is a strongly customized Eclipse platform. Within this development environment, we follow standardized and industrialized processes starting from specification, through development and ending with packaging and deployment of the software.
Your Responsabilities:
- Analysis of customer requirements and design and implementation of new functionality
- Close collaboration with the business analysis and architecture for specifications and design
Extension of the standard customization for Avaloq Core - Maintenance of existing functionality
- Development of automated tests and support of our development center in Manila for the maintenance of existing tests
- Update of technical documentation in close collaboration with Business Analysts and Technical Writers
- Technical support of customer projects (new implementation of, or upgrades to, the Avaloq Banking Suite)
Education:
University degree in computer science or equivalent
Professional Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of software engineering
- Profound understanding of object oriented software design
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, PL/SQL) is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of Java and Javascript, Microservices etc is a strong advantage
- Experience in development of complex applications is an advantage
- Open minded and team oriented
- Eager to learn and take on new challenges
- Interested in the banking business
