Sr. Web Developer
Gorilla Logic is working with our client, a leading worldwide media brand, to help build their team of highly intelligent and capable engineers. We are looking for a Sr. Web Developer, who will work with a team of engineers building and maintaining our customer’s digital media applications, including applications targeted at set-top and streaming platforms. Based in San Jose, Costa Rica, this is a key role within our customer’s engineering team, requiring extensive web development experience with HTML 5, React, streaming media, and REST integration. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of web development experience
- Expert understanding of React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience with Roku/Brightscript a strong plus
- Familiarity with asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, REST API integration, CDNs, ad injection and tracking
- Basic understanding of image authoring and web design tools such as PhotoShop, Sketch and/or Illustrator
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Roku/Brightscript
- Experience with other embedded-browser media platforms e.g. Chromecast, XBox
- Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
- Backend development stacks including Node.js, Drupal 7, Java
