Are you our new R Programming Analyst in the Data Science Team?


We’re looking for an R Programming Analyst to enable our clients to understand what the world thinks with ever greater detail, speed and accuracy. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for leading our Facebook survey integration process, from setting up and programming surveys, through to designing the questions and gathering the data produced. Facebook integration is an important part of YouGov’s lateral future growth. In addition this position will also design and support more general political survey implementations, as well as cleaning, and formatting data. You’ll program our surveys in Gryphon and perform basic web programming.



What will I be doing?


You'll be supporting with Facebook poll integration, supporting on the design, creation, programming and integration process, as well as general survey programming, liasing with project managers to support entire end to end process.


You'll work with our marketing leading data; working to analyze, clean, and format, as well as, write scripts and programs to increase the efficiency of or automate these processes as much as possible. You'll work with Python, R, Crunch, and SPSS for the majority of the data management tasks.


Working within a vibrant and dynamic team, you’ll continually be learning, naturally taking to different projects with ease; applying your sometimes academic knowledge in a business environment.



What do I need to bring with me?


You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, social science, or a related field, although some experience in Market Research would be advantageous. You might have some experience in data analysis, data management, and web programming  (particularly in R and/or Python).


You’ll have a demonstrated ability to work independently on fast deadlines. Accuracy will be key, so you’ll have strong attention to detail. You’ll enjoy solving complex technical problems, are eager to develop new skills and expertise, as well as, being proactive, positive and professional.
