JavaScript Engineer at Age of Learning, Inc. (Glendale, CA)

We are seeking a JavaScript Engineer capable of creating high-performance, web-based, front-end systems using JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 for use on desktop and mobile devices.

In this position you will be contributing to the architectural design of our JavaScript framework, web-based products, our technology choices for front-end development, and performing stability and performance assessments of existing code for the purpose of suggesting (and subsequently) improving our products.


Responsibilities



  • Participate in the development of our next JavaScript framework

  • Low level JavaScript development

  • Solve complex problems with simple architectural solutions

  • Guide and mentor developers with the intention of improving their skills and work product

  • Participate in new technology evaluation and provide recommendations

  • Perform hands-on development within existing code/products as well as new projects

  • Perform critical reviews of existing JavaScript/HTML/CSS code and suggest improvements


Required Qualifications



  • 5+ years’ experience JavaScript engineering

  • 2+ years of Node.js and ES2016+ experience

  • Familiarity with software design paradigms and JavaScript design patterns

  • Experienced with performance tuning and optimization techniques for front-end systems

  • Advanced with HTML5, CSS3 and complementary technologies

  • Knowledge of Polymer is a plus

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular

  • Great communicator and collaborate in a team environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
