We are a data-centric development team building a new Telemetry system based on Kafka, Kafka streams, PostGIS, Tile38. Our team’s focus in on building spatial-temporal tracking of vehicles and events, distance calculation, geolocation/geocoding, routing, mapping and providing geo data sets & geo data analytics.
To support our ambitious growth, we are now looking for a Java / Scala Engineer for Geo Information Services (GIS) for our team in Berlin as soon as possible.
Your tasks - Paint the world green
- You support our GIS system & tomtom order management
- You will build a new Telemetry system based on Kafka, Kafka streams
- You enable Business events based on location of various devices
Your Profile - Ready to hop on board
- Several years of professional experience with Java or Scala, bonus points if you know Python, PostGIS, Tile38, Docker + K8s, Kafka, Gradle, SBT
- Experience with GIS technologies is a plus: i.e. GeoJSON, MapBox, CartoCSS, Google Maps, Leaflet, deck.gl, OpenStreetMap & OpenStreetMap ecosystem, OpenLayers, TopoJSON, KML, GML, GDAL/OGR, GTFS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS, OSRM, GraphHopper
- Ensure that your code is working as expected is an essential part of your coding style
- Passionate about learning new tools and keeping yourself up-to-date
- Willingness to communicate and share your knowledge with other team members
- Willingness to take responsibility for the product and technical decisions
- Fluent in English; every other language is a plus
- Bachelor/Master in business information systems, computer science or similar experiences
